The Rose City Flyers FC is an American fantasy football club playing in the Bigtime Soccer League, established in 2012 as one of the three expansion clubs for that season. The club has left its mark on the BSL including a BSL Cup Championship in its first season.
The club had a large impact on the first half of its inaugural BSL season, finishing the part of the season before Majors Cup Qualifying at the top of the standings. Continuing their good run of play, the club finished the 2012 regular season at 13-7-2 with 41 points and in the fourth and final BSL playoff position. Better play by the rest of the BSL teams in the second half of the season denied the Flyers a spot in the Majors Cup in their inaugural year.
The club won their first Playoff Semifinal in their first season, topping Gateway United 7-0 and advancing to the BSL Cup Final against the Pennsylvania Stoners. The BSL Cup Final played out to a 4-2 score in favor of Rose City.
The club's sophomore season was not the joy ride of the first. A final record of 7-11-4 resulted in a near bottom of the table finish in 10th place with no playoff appearances though the team did look to crack the needed positions several times over the season.
In the club's third year, a better draft looked to have had no effect as a slow start doomed them to playing catch-up most of the season. It wasn't enough for the full table with a 6th place finish just outside the expanded playoff range. The second half of the season was a much more successful campaign however with an easy qualification into the Majors Cup. Rose City won their group and dispatched their opponents in both of their single elimination games to with the Majors Cup and remain undefeated (7-0-0) in postseason play.
